Himandhoo ppl

I thought of writing this post after seeing the one maa (dragonfly)wrote on Oct 9th. It was an awesome post. U guys should check it out.

i believe that the ppl of himandhoo were driven to be like they were. maybe im being biased like maa since i know a friend who grew up in our house who is from himandhoo. when they turned religious, one day the imaam of the mosque they were praying put both his hands on his head to pray JUST to mock those ppl and even at 'fahu aththahiyyaath' ppl used to swing their arms around JUST to mock those ppl. no action was taken against the imaam or to any of the others. the other two mosques there were built on top of a graveyard. so they decided to make a mosque of their own. so what! its their right. they can do whatever they want. they can follow any sunnai they want. they WERENT doing any harm. but still resistance was sent against them taking as a reason that they were disrupting the peace of that island. If the government thought they were doing that much wrong they could’ve jes handled it in a different way rather than using force.

Even after that day the ppl of himandhoo were frequently brought to Male’ to court for ‘judgement’. They had to give up their work and come to Male’ frequently for a ‘judgement’ that never came. My friend is currently married and has a boy. He had to give up all his work and come here to be told that the ‘shareeyai’ is yet again delayed. Sometimes he has to be here in Male’ for 2weeks or so before he is again sent back to his island. And he has to come to Male’ once every two months. Sometimes even more frequently. This is how they were treated. Im SURE that they weren’t growing more and more pleasant everytime this was being done to them.

And ofcourse I think the ppl who did the bombing should be severely punished (in my opinion the bombing is jes fishy. Will write the next post on it)

Even after the bombing the himandhoo ppl did say that the cops could take anyone they want for questioning and that the rest of the himandhoo ppl didn’t have anything to do with the bombing. But still it’s the cops that drove these ppl to be how they were. They started the whole thing. We’ve seen that scenario happening in the Maldives over and over again. Ppl being beaten down sometimes for no reason at all. The cops had gone to himandhoo before and they knew damn well how THAT turned out. Who can blame them for being defensive THIS time. And yea, I do agree that the himandhoo ppl weren’t all right either. Even they couldve handled the situation much better. The stuff some of them did weren’t pleasant or religious at all. And you cant blame the cops for following orders too now can u? This was the whole government against a small island. Im SURE that the government could’ve handled the situation in so many ways than they have done so. Their options were much vast than that of the himandhoo ppl.

Why cant ppl just mind their own business. Why cant the religious ppl live their life following their beliefs(by religious ppl im NOT referring to the ppl who did the bombing). Its like I meet lots of ppl who doesn’t believe in islam and they keep on criticizing them saying they say when we pray we have to hold our hands here and not there. That we have to do this and not that. Helloooooo.. U guys aren’t doing those stuff or are forced to do them now r u? so whats it to u? ur living life the way u wanna live it. So why cant they? This goes the same for all those religious ppl too. If u wanna pray all day long or follow the sunnai uve selected then jes go on and do it. The others don’t HAVE to believe those or do em. Why cant both u parties jes mind ur own business and live how u wanna live among urselves without saying “Ur not SUPPOSED to do that. U SHOULD be like me”?? Everyone has the freedom to do what they want and live how they want as long as they don’t involve others in it.
