Over the past years ive noticed something odd…..well…maybe not odd. At night sometimes it gets really difficult to sleep cos of the blood sucking little pests that never seem to go away. I usually use the VAPE mat thingy to drive em away and it really does work. Dunno the concept behind it but it does seem to work. But then there are occasions where u find out that uve run out of it without taking much notice of it. That’s when the nasty blood suckers come right atcha from every angle that they can.
So one dark night when I swiched off all the lights and went to sleep thinking to myself “damn I aint gonna get any sleep tonight”. But to my surprise not a single bite all thru out the night. So I thote I’d try it again. And it jes seemed to work. But if there was a speck of light like from lets say if the speaker was turned on and the little light on it was still on, the buggers would suck u dry. But if it was really dark that doesn’t seem to be the case. Anyone else experienced it or are the mosquitoes at my place as weird as me? So does this mean that they cant detect the flesh or whatever if its dark? Or maybe it has a radius around it and the moment the lights are out they jes get all wise and decide to stay put out of fear of bumping into sumthin?

hmmm... I've never tried that, but then don't usually have problems with mosquitoes :/
Usually don't notice if/when they come suck blood and go...

@maanasih: really? u dont notice? ur lucky u know that. i'd notice even if its a simple bite. i jes wish id notice while its sucking or jes when its started. but usually its the itching thats the start point of it all. sigh. Lucky u.
@bulhaa:attracted to black? that sounds interesting and not befuddling. i mean think of it this way. if they are attracted to black and when the lights are turned off it means its surrounded by black. it would be befuddling for the mosquito now wudnt it? ;)
@letoh: yea, guess so. i wonder what insects do have night vision.
oh oh i got it. when the lights are turned off, they cant tell you apart from the walls. :D

we dont have these creatures here so i cant say anything about it at all :)
mosquitos are attracted to carbondioxide for a fact. they start gathering around u more if u exhale more carbondioxide.
it could be that the particular nights in question are low humid nights. these buggers receptors are less sensitive then and find it hard to detect ur blood. but then again these work only at close range.
finally. they have bad eye. cant see u from far. plus they hav a huge blind spot as well. n on top of that they find it hard to distinguish between objects. so guess whats gonna happen when u turn off the lights.
