Punishment

Damn this is one country that has failed in so many ways considering this is an islamic country. The number of ppl commiting the deadly sins are getting more and more each day. Those punishments that our religion has taught us to implement should be followed in my opinion.

Even now, those thieves and burglers. they all know that by the time they are caught they wouldve probly become rich and when they are caught they jes get a year in jail or most of the times they jes get locked up at home for a few months and then are released. so on with the crimes again to make more money and become more rich.

All the ppl who are caught bringing drugs into this country and those druggies out on the streets, they wont even stop if the current punishments are being implemented

We need to be harsh...but not extreme. and the punishments in our religion are perfect for that. lets say we cut a hand or two of thieves of 20yrs of age and above to those caught after a certain day, im sure the rest would hesitate to continue. cos they'll know that if caught they wont get away with jes house arrest. im positive that crime rates would go down in jes a month.

And when implementing punishment everyone needs to be notified about the punishments before hand....that on a certain day these certain ppl will be punished infront of the public. They need to feel ashamed of their actions. Im sure even all the parents would try harder to put some sense into their children in defining the right from the wrong.

But then again if this is taken to the extreme, thats gonna again cause alot more problems and the situation would go worse. or is the current system jes perfect?

harsh but not extreme eh. :D so who manages that people don't end up going to the extremes?

i am very positive that if god sent in more floods and rained more fire from the sky, people would be generally good and faithful. so why just stick to petty punishments, such as cutting off limbs, when much more effective and broader sin range punishments are available? back then, if people were this naughty, maldives would have had so many cracks on the coral reef and turned upside down already.

then again, we are human. we are fallible. we should be assigned angels on this earth, who are infallible, to police and punish us with utmost justice.

I agree, there needs to be serious changes made to our current justice system. I personally think our current situation has come to the point where we should be ashamed to call ourselves an islamic country...its like we're encouraging crime with the present punishments...u get thrown in jail one day,and you're out the next.

severe punishment may not be the best answer to crime ... or adultry ...

@m: so what ur basically saying is that everything should be set up for us here? raining fire from the skies? :S well, whatever makes u positive :)

@starky:yep. im definite they wont change it.and its gonna get worse n worse.and we r the ones who r gonna suffer for it. i'd rather have the hands of the sinful cut rather than have ourselves mugged at every corner after being ripped open with a knife or our sisters and friends being raped etc.

@raaji:i'd say with need a LOT of blessings.heheh

@juna: Yayyy! finally someone who understands what im trying to say. :D

@subcorpus: and it might be as well u know.we've been trying other means for all these past years here in the maldives and it doesnt seem to be working at all now has it?

no no. we dont need a change. its perfect. really perfect. after all its our good god who crafted the system with almost thirty yrs of hard work. the father of everything. the ruler we all love. the immortal ,the ageless and the ever youthful (its not the botox).

you got it all wrong arufius. gods done make mistakes. its people like you who needs to repent for disgracing the beauty and sophistication of our beloved's creations.

repent sinner. repent n thou shall not feel the wrath. thou shall be spared of the the rod carried by the mindless goons in blue. repent

Haha, anonymous. Why should I fear the rods of the goons in blue when I have access to M4 machine guns, AK-97's, Rocket Launchers and all of them modern military equipment?.

Beauty?. Grace?. Is there beauty in a assault and robbery?. And what sophistication is there about 9 year old raped by 4 older people?.

I believe in national determinism. If an enemy beyond your borders (your skin) threatens your life and livelihood; you have the sanction to use whatever force necessary to terminate the offender; this will send a message to other enemies. "I'm tough and if you f*** with me, you'll end up weighted and thrown into the ocean to rot."

So get down from your high pedestal, anonymous. or a militia might push you off.
