Was thinking about the comic when i remembered about the names. the author seems to be pretty creative i guess. i remember reading Asterix comics years and years back but it never occured to me look carefully at what the names meant or what the names of the characters were. It was until a year or two back when i realised it all. now looking at the names just brings a huge smile. Here are some of the names.
Chief 'Vitalstatistics'- Vital Statistics
Druid 'Getafix'- Get A Fix
Fish seller 'Unhygienix'- need i say more?
His wife 'Bacteria'- same again
blacksmith 'Fullyautomatix'- Fully Automatix
some other characters 'Justforkicks'- Just For Kicks
Wonder what Asterix and Obelix mean. hmmmm.any hidden meanings? even cocofonix.

I also witness a a story running for nearly 30 years now with a lead character named Golhabo, classical name!

Asterix = * the star
Obelix = Obelisk the menhir man
Cacophonic = unpleasant sound
In fact, almost all the names are puns!
Geriatrix - the old man with young wife
Impedimenta - wife of the chief
Influenza

i was just wondering if the rest of the names say Asterix and Obelix is just a mumble jumble or if it actually meant something like in the druid's name - Get a Fix. i know who they are in the comic.

also, theres a name of an assistant of a druid called "bycarbonatesofsoda" cracked me up... that was like 8 years ago. slow, arent ya?

i hav all the asterix cmics....its fun. not only their names are cool, bt the romans and others guys names are pretty cool too :D luv them, specialy obelix :D
