Food Bank's Menu

My three friends Tom, Richard and Nannu joined me for lunch the other day at Food Bank. I wanted to try out the beef steak there which i had heard was very good.

So we go there and the waiter brings two menus. he gives one to Tom and the other to Richard. We go thru it and check the price of this awesome steak. and OMG!! it was for F**kin 150/-. we couldnt believe our eyes. There was no way the one who recommended me was someone who would pay this much jes for a steak,even if it came down on a tray from heaven itself. so we had no choice but to take something else. we browsed thru the burger section and a burger was for F**kin 90/- each. OMG! we came here like a week back and it was for 30/-. Now its thrice more? So we called the waiter and asked him if the price of the onions had gone THAT up. He looked at the menu, didnt say a single word, took the menu from us and rushed away. He soon came back with a different set of menus.

We looked at the new menu and guess what? the prices were back to normal. a burger for 30/- and a beef steak for 50/-. We asked the waiter why they had two menus and he goes "the other menu the portion is much bigger" and he slided away. We were shocked as hell ofcourse. we couldnt believe it. So we called another waiter and asked him abt the menus. He smiled and said that the portions would be the same and that was the menu for guests. Tom and Richard were furious ofcoure. Tom went "is it cos of my colour?".

i mean seriously, they actually had a separate menu made jes for foreigners. And it was THREE times more. boy are we glad we didnt jes order. else we would have had to pay over 700/- jes for that meal. We still cant believe it. wonder jes how many restaurants do that kinda thing. but isnt it a bit too much to charge THREE times more on everything? i know most foreigners are much richer than the average Maldivian but still THREE times? oh well. atleast the beef steak was awesome. It was gooooooood.
