dammit. my laptop has gone kapoot. It used to have Norton in it. one day i got online and tried to update it. They asked me to input the code at the back of the Cd. Dammit! the smartarses! I got the thing from a friend so didnt have the code. Now its all inactive. So i downloaded AVAST since i heard it was really good aaaaaaand since it was for free ;). hehe
Everytime i opened my laptop there would pop up a window from Avast. i jes clicked 'yes' without even reading it a single time. (yep. my mistake. BIIIIG time).
Last night while i was online chattin and around 2 or so the comp suddenly froze up. didnt care much and jes shut it down and went to bed
Woke up this morning and when i opened it, windows opened up as usual and the desktop icons were all there. i could even click on em. but couldnt open a single thing. soon afterwards the comp got stuck again. restarted it a couple of times and by luck it started working again. so i seized the opportunity and rushed off with the laptop to meet an IT bro of mine.
Seems that pop up window from Avast was saying that since Norton was still installed on my computer it wasnt able to perfoem or sumthing and was inactive. so basically all these days my comp was all naked towards all the viruses from the net. stupid stupid stupid and so carefree. dammit! now i have to format the whole thing again. sigh. No watching animes tonight i guess. :(
Damn these computer viruses. whats the best? nod, avast or norton. i heard that norton slows down the comp over 20% jes so that it can perform (it itself being a damn virus). most ppl recommended nod. it cost like 500bucks which aint much since its for one whole year.

i recommend u to use kasperskey.. u can get a cracked version through the net.. apps like nod are kinda night blind.. they dont know the directories and file system of the o/s very well.. so it will delete any infected file if its chosen as the action/

A good backup anti-virus is F-Prot DOS.
And yeah, I'm planning on getting a new PC. Old one's getting all F***ed up in the head.
try Kaspersky ... its the best.
Nod is good but $500 for a whole year is still VERY expensive. You can buy a laptop with 500 bucks :)
Norton is very efficient even if it slows the computer down. I always try to have a lot of RAM on my computer, If you have that, it shouldn't slow down much and things should work just fine :)

well, i use bitdefender. i bought a 2-year license for around 80 USD.
obinoeve. no problems at all. it has everything. a scanner module, spam, script, firewall... plus the updates are daily. (i update on a weekly basis).

kaiza shozey! take it from the software guy! i've done extensive research with all known antivirus apps out there, literally infecting my pc with viruses and fixing it.
