Why do ppl spend so much on weddings? I really don’t understand the logic of it. Is it all a show-off? Or to invite all those friends and the whole family for the dinner celebrations? Or just to make the occasion memorable? I believe there are others ways to make the day memorable right? U don’t have to spend thousands of Rufiyaa for that. This recent wedding, it cost over MRF100,000. yea, its true its true. So why do you wanna spend that much money in just one day? I’d rather have a small but memorable wedding with family and closest friends. I’d rather spend the rest of the money on buying furniture and for the honeymoon to follow. And the remaining I’d jes save em. Well, I guess if someone else is doing the paying its all right. Like they say “its not coming out of my pocket”. But still, even if our parents are doing all the paying shouldn’t we stop them from doing so? Even if they insist I’d make em spend all that money in some other way. There are lots of ways to spend over MRF100,000 than in just one day on just one dinner right? And would it be considered religiously a waste to spend that much on such an occasion? jes wondering. Not wanting to sound all holy and religious but how about spending like 1/5th of the money on the poor and needy? Would that be such a bad thing. Btw, im not judging ppl who hold huge and expensive wedding parties. Its their money, they can spend it whatever way they find fit. Its jes a thought.

Having said that, theres such a thing as fitting into the rat pack and one has to do what the pack does, and besides people like to show off and prove that they are just as good as the next rat.. :)

it seems that girls look forward for their wedding days from the day of birth, as if nothing after that day matters - and it is highly probable that the expensive wedding be more supported by the bride (and/or family) rather than the groom (and/or family). stupid world.

well...kaizey shozey...when u r abt to get married..u wud want a simple marriage...but the girl is always a dreamer....its like my friend had a nice wedding and i want a nicer wedding or i went to this wedding and i dreamed abt a better wedding.
spending that amnt of money is huge thing on one night i agree...but its abt giving the girl wat she wants a grand wedding that all her friends come and cud enjoy presents its her special night..make her happy then and then later that night she wud make u more happy...
